Description

Julia Simmchen is a Swiss/German skeleton racer who joined the national squad in 2019. Her parents were both competitive athletes and were internationally successful in skeleton. Raised in a very sporty family, she discovered her passion for gymnastics at an early age. She already trained 5 to 7 times per week, so sport has always been an essential ingredient in Julia's life. At 10, Julia decided to enter the world of athletics. She always knew she wanted to step into the family tradition and become a professional skeleton racer. Athletics was a good basis for it. At the age of 11, she got on a skeleton sled for the first time. But she was only allowed to start actively competing in skeleton at the age of 14. The 2016 Winter Youth Olympics in Lillehammer was the start of her skeleton career. Currently Julia is preparing for the Winter Olympics and her goal is to achieve a podium place.

Besides her professional career, she loves to create workouts and motivate people to move. She promotes hard work, dedication and resilience in workouts, believing we all have the potential to control our own narrative and make moves in and out of the fitness studio. Her goal is to help people feel successful, empowered, and confident after each and every workout.
